Presenting our crowdfunding at Linda Rama

Next Thursday 27th of April is the presentation of Versogramas’ crowdfunding campaign. It will take place at Linda Rama, a bookstore-cafeteria specialized into poetry, located at Puerta de Aires Street, number 4 (A Coruña)

We invite you to know all the details about the crowdfunding campaign of Versogramas, the first documentary on the international videopoetry scene, produced by Esferobite.

We will speak about the videopoets that will be interviewed in the documentary, we will explain all rewards, we will examine how Verkami works and we will tell you all details you might want to know about the project.

Besides, we will screen some videopoems. You can be the first to watch some of the videopoems that will be part of the documentary!

To present the project we will count with Esferobite directors and producers Juan Lesta and Belén Montero and producer Celia Parra

We are looking forward to seeing you!

Remember that, if you can’t assist but want to support the project anyway, there are two things you can do:

  1. Contribute with your pledge, if you haven’t done it already, to get one of the original rewards we offer.
  2. Share the link vkm.is/versogramas among your friends. The more we share the project, the easiest we will reach the goal.

After the first week of campaign we reached more than 30% of our objective, but we still need your collaboration to make Versogramas a reality.

Thanks a lot!

What’s a pre-campaign?

Many of you are asking: what’s this pre-campaign thing? is this already a crowdfunding? are you going to offer more rewards? What are you doing this for?

It’s normal that some questions arise. Specially about a process that is well known among the crowdfunding community but maybe not so popular in Spain. As we want to keep you all posted, here is some information to answer these questions.

pre-campaña crowdfunding

A pre-campaign is a way of announcing a forthcoming crowdfunding campaign. Its aim is keeping the community informed, so that the news doesn’t take them aback. All the relevant information about what is to come is resumed in a web page. In our case, this link is versogramas.com/landing. We encourage people who might be interested to let us their email there. You will see, for example, three of the awards we will be offering, but there will be more. We are already announcing them in social media, so stay tuned!

We will launch our crowdfunding campaign on Tuesday 18th of April. We will email all subscribed people and provide them with a link to the crowdfunding platform we will use. Some rewards are limited, so it’s important to catch them soon! That way we hope to concentrate the attention of our community and get a higher number of contributions, so that we reach the funding aim sooner and the project can be a reality.

Just in case you are worried of receiving spam: We won’t be annoying, I promise! We will inform occasionally about the beginning of the crowdfunding campaign and the funding goals we reach. Also, you can also follow the news we post on the campaign blog.

Versogramas documentary aims at bringing videopoetry closer to a wide audience, not only the videopoets community. We want to share our passion for videopoetry with all the world. That’s why we need your collaboration. Please, share versogramas.com/landing with your friends, contribute to the extent posible when we launch the crowdfunding campaign, and spread the word! Let videopoetry reach all corners of the internet!

We are launching a pre-campaign

If you share our objective and want to be part of this project, participate!

Dictionary Illustrations – Marie Craven

Dictionary Illustrations is a funny and rhythmic videopoem by Marie Craven.

Dictionary Illustrations Marie Craven

A rare example among the usual videopoems made in video, this animation of encyclopaedia illustrations embodies the aesthetics of gifs. This mix of an antique content with contemporary form is really interesting: a rhythmic and quick editing, a simple naïve music based on loops, typography cut off and displayed over a moving background,a hypnotic use of the usual statism that defines pictures whose only task is to inform.

Dictionary Illustrations can be defined as a result from the now extinct project The Poetry Storehouse, an American online database of poems and audio recitings that encouraged remix and free usage with the aim of creating videopoems.

Sara Sloath’s poem is a tribute to curiosity: why dictionaries don’t have a picture for verbs, why lines are like that, why is so difficult to describe the shape of leaves… The voice of the kid who recites transmits an innocence that, along with the meticulous character of music, highlights the whole videopoem.

Dictionary Illustrations won this last edition of O’Bheal International Poetry-Film Competition.
