First goal achieved!

We just reached the first objective! Now, let’s go for the second. Stay tuned!!

first objective reached

We want to reach 8.500€ to make Versogramas amazing. With that extra money, we can fill the set with amazing attrezzo so that the transition scenes look even better: dried leaves, stones, books, leds, boxes, crazy stuff… Besides, we can hire more people to help us with the logistics. We really need more helping hands! Could you please help us achieve that?

Also, we want to add a new reward: a picnic+informal outdoors screening of the documentary. Have dinner with the team while you watch the documentary, for 50€! Don’t miss it!

As a way to say thanks to all the patrons that have already supported, we will give you an extra reward! Online access to exclusive material from the documentary: making off, cut scenes, full interviews…

Let’s keep moving forward! Please share vkm.is/versogramas and collaborate in this fantastic project!

What do Yolanda Castaño, Antón Reixa, Miriam Reyes, Cristina Ferreiro, Eduardo Estévez, Branca Novoneyra, Xabier Xardón or Esther Carrodeguas have in common? Did they wrote with pens from the same brand? Do they have a similar hair colour?

No! All of them are Galician poets whose videopoems will be included in Versogramas! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Galician Literature Day, as well as honoring Carlos Casares (this years’ honoree). Let’s celebrate also great living poets who mix word, image and sound.

So today we celebrate literature and we also celebrate that we already have more than 4.000€! Remember some rewards are running out, such as participating in a collective videopoem and getting a discount ticket to the preview.

Also, don’t miss the opportunity of receiving an online multimedia recital to enjoy wherever you want. And be sure you get one of the copies from the numbered edition of Juan Lesta and Belén Montero’s videopoems.

There are few days left until the campaign is over, and it’s crucial that you help us spread the word. For two reasons: so that we can make Versogramas a reality, and so that you can receive the reward you ordered! 😉

By the way: in the 2nd day of shooting we interviewed Eduardo Yagüe, Dionisio Cañas and Miriam Reyes. Eduardo said these beautiful words about us and brought Swedish candies to the team. Conversations with them were as delicious as the candies. Such beautiful moments Veresogramas is giving us!!

Day 1 – We’re shooting!

Day one of shooting is over. Versogramas, the first documentary on the international videopoetry scene has already started shooting.

We interviewed Kònic, Rosa Sánchez and Alain Baumann, artists specialized in interactive creations where word, image and sound play a key role .

From Belgium came Marc Neys, such a referent in the international videopoetry scene, with almost 300 videopoems created an a huge passion for his work. He collaborates with plenty of videopoets, teaches videopoetry workshops, he’s a jury at some festivals and has received lots of prizes himself.

Hernán Talavera came from Albacete with handful of references and reflections upon his creative process when elaborating a videopoem. He has a long and award-winning experience in the genre, which he faces from a painter point of view.

The last interviewd of the day was Eugeni Bonet, the father of Spanish videoart, a living piece of history. He explained us how he works with poetry in his pieces.

There are still more shooting days ahead, and we still need all your support. As you know, we still have to secure some funding!

We need your collaboration to reach the goal of the campaign. We will use the money to cover shooting expenses, translation, subtitles, copies, color grading and copies. To help us:

– Make your pledge at vkm.is/versogramas

– Share the link vkm.is/versogramas with your contacts

– If you have friends working at the press, tell them about Versogramas. If you have friends working at cultural centers or libraries, tell them about Versogramas. If you have friends working in the educational field, tell them about Versogramas. If you have friends working on TV, tell them about Versogramas.

We need to spread the word so that Versogramas reaches your screens!

An early trial – Víctor M Mozo & DSK

Today the videopoem of the week is special. After its journey through festivals, today we are happy to present the online premiere of “An early trial”, a documentary-videopoem directed by DSK(Belén Montero and Juan Lesta) about the poet Víctor M Mozo.

“An early trial” was screened at Mostra de Cinema Periférico S8 (A Coruña, 2015) and was finalist for best experimental film at CREA awards (Proffesional Association of Directors from Galicia, Santiago de Compostela 2016). It had its international premiere at ACRE TV (Illinois, Chicago 2016), a TV channel exclusively devoted to video art, created thanks to the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.

A man, a place, one decision, the story. One poet and his poetry. A Víctor M Mozo autobiography’s reflection coded as a videopoetry, through the four seasons. The film shows flora and fauna of lands linked with his family and his past.”

So starts the introduction to this early trial shot by Juan Lesta and Belén Montero. The sensitivity of both directors, along with the music of David Rivas Domínguez, plunge us in a dance of sensations, where reflections about time, image, writing, memory, dreams, landscape and childhood flow in sync with the poems of Víctor M Mozo. The poet appears on stage embodying the effect that his own words cause into him, reciting and pondering over his texts. The carefully designed aesthetics of images and the inspiring soundtrack give the poem a delicate and sensorial atmosphere.

This isn’t Belén Montero and Juan Lesta’s first incursion into videopoetry. Together they have created videopoems for other poets, commissions for museums and collaborative projects. Their last works on videopoetry can be seen here. They are currently in charge of Versogramas, what will be the world’s first documentary on the international videopoetry scene.
